Background & Objectives
Honduras has a diverse civil society sector with over 20,000 registered organizations focusing on human development, rule of law, climate change, youth rights, and employment. The EU’s 2021-2027 roadmap aims to enhance CSOs’ impact through dialogue, advocacy, and capacity-building. MACH-2 will support this roadmap by:
Improving the legal, regulatory, and tax environment for CSOs.
Strengthening CSO capacities in coalition-building, strategic communication, and policy engagement.
Facilitating participation in political dialogues and multi-stakeholder forums for policy development and implementation monitoring.
Activities
This contract supports EU Roadmap implementation in Honduras, focusing on strengthening civil society capacities. Specific actions include:
- Developing a diagnostic document and mapping of CSOs.
- Updating the EU Civil Society Roadmap.
- Facilitating dialogues, youth platforms, and awareness campaigns.
- Establishing a Knowledge Hub, training programs, and technical assistance for CSOs’ institutional and legal frameworks.
- Coordinating structured dialogues and events to enhance CSO capacities..
Results
The results/products of this action that contribute to the specific objective corresponding to OE1 are the following:
- R1: Improved the enabling environment before leaving the CSO in Honduras through the implementation of the national road map of the EU before the compromise with the civil society before the period 2021 – 2027.
- R2: Fortalecidas las capacitas de la sociedad civil before increasing their participation in the formulation of policies, la veeduría social y before entablar un structured dialogue about public policies in the framework of the areas of cooperation of the EU, at the national and local level.
