Background & Objectives
The EU-Central America Partnership Facility (EUreCA) aims to support Central American integration as an engine of sustainable development in the subregion, promoting stability, peace and the reduction of inequalities
The Facility focuses on common policy priorities, including green and blue recovery, digitalization, gender equality and the fight against inequalities
It also aims to facilitate the design and implementation of EU actions in the subregion, including conducting strategic communication activities, fostering network growth, and establishing stronger connections
Activities
AESA provides technical assistance, administrative, logistical and methodological support to different stakeholders, including the Delegations of the European Union in Costa Rica and Panama, for the proper implementation of the Association Agreement and the corresponding planning instruments
AESA helps nurture processes and maximizes their impact on Central American countries while pursuing greater alignment with the sub-region in the strategic priorities of the EU Global Agenda
The project also conducts research and innovation activities and studies, knowledge sharing, prospecting for opportunities for impact, proposal of projects and interventions, capacity building, public policy development and support
Results
Strengthened capacity of regional and national institutions and organizations to build on the EU-CA Association Agreement, the bi-regional partnership, political dialogue and other initiatives on the EU’s global agenda
Enhanced public awareness and support for the EU, priorities and partnership with the region, through strategic communication activities targeting specific audiences
Supported effective and efficient implementation of EU priorities and programs in the sub-region, ensuring alignment with broader regional strategies, and promoting sustainable and inclusive development
