We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the Capacity Building and Supply to the Sigor WEI-WEI Integrated Development Project (SIWWIP-04) . Funded by the Agenzia italiana per la cooperazione allo sviluppo (AICS) and implemented in partnership with the Government of Kenya, this transformative initiative took place from 2020 to 2026 under the supervision of the Ministry of East African Community Affairs.
The overall objective of SIWWIP-04 was to improve the health, social, and economic conditions of communities in the Kerio Valley. Through a collaborative approach with the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) and implementation by AESA East Africa, the project focused on enhancing agricultural production efficiency. Key activities included capacity building in sustainable crop, land, and water management, the supply of modern machinery and infrastructure, and strengthening local governance and market linkages.
Project Highlights:
- Increased agricultural productivity and irrigation efficiency.
- Empowerment of farmer associations and institutional strengthening.
- Adoption of crop diversification, agroforestry, and soil erosion control.
- Enhanced value addition and access to markets.
The project has significantly contributed to increased income opportunities, improved livelihoods, and sustainable economic growth for the communities in the target areas.
