Background & Objectives
- Uganda has seen substantial economic growth and poverty reduction, although recent progress has slowed. “Vision 2040” and NDP II prioritize human rights, rule of law, and accountability to sustain development and improve public services amid governance challenges. Issues include weak service delivery, institutional weaknesses, and corruption scandals. The discovery of significant oil reserves offers economic potential, but effective management of resources is crucial for sustainable development, requiring transparent governance and strategic investment.
Activities
- General Activities: Update organization/methodology, facilitate policy dialogue, provide briefing notes.
- Result N°1 Activities: Support EITI oversight, develop work plans, create communications strategy.
- Results N°2 and N°5 Activities: Update TORs, support sector chairs, coordinate reviews.
- Result N°3 Activities: Build capacity, strengthen services, enhance rights protection.
- Result N°4 Activities: Review case management, automate processes, strengthen supervision.
- Result N°6 Activities: Prepare SRPC meetings, support monitoring, assess targets.
