Background & Objectives
Ethiopia leads Africa in livestock numbers with 135 billion ETB annual contribution to its economy, encompassing 18% of GDP and benefiting 70% of households. However, challenges persist in veterinary services, animal nutrition, genetic improvement, product handling, market information, and technology transfer, hindering sector growth. Enhancing veterinary services is critical for reducing disease losses and increasing production.
