Background & Objectives
- The EU’s EUR 20 million BAEP supports Bangsamoro’s agri-fishery and agribusiness sectors:
- Outcome 1: Enhances local agricultural production quality, diversity, and market responsiveness, boosting incomes for smallholder farmers.
- Outcome 2: Develops BARMM’s agribusiness policies and strategies, facilitating exports within the Philippines and BIMP-EAGA trade corridor.
Activities
- Output 1.1 Activities:Review and update course curriculum for PIFS E-commerce Disciplines.Conduct online consultations and develop toolkits for Tuvalu.Implement standardized training modules and upgrade the PIFS E-commerce Portal.
- Output 1.2 Activities:Provide technical coordination and establish monitoring systems for BAEP.Support Project Steering Committee functions and facilitate stakeholder collaboration.Assist in administrative coordination and risk management for BAEP implementation.
- Output 2.2 Activities:Establish PMO and support Project Director functions for BAEP.Coordinate Programme Steering Committee activities and integrate monitoring processes.Develop risk management systems and support flexibility in action-proposal implementation.
Results
- Output 1.1: Strengthened capacity of BARMM agribusiness stakeholders to enhance Value/Supply Chain interactions, contribute to policy dialogue, empower farmers’ groups (especially IPs, women, and youth), and foster sustainable partnerships with the private sector.
- Output 1.2: Supported MAFAR and MTIT in establishing quality standards for products (including Halal and sea-aqua), negotiating Bilateral Quarantine Agreements, and developing export strategies for BIMP-EAGA countries.
- Output 1.3: Assisted BARMM/MTIT in crafting a comprehensive agribusiness strategy aligned with human rights, nutrition goals, and inclusive economic growth, promoting sustainable practices and investment opportunities
