AESA has been working hand in hand with the Government of Greenland and the European Union to drive forward one of the most ambitious sustainability programmes in the region: the Greenland–EU Cooperation Facility.
This initiative bridges policy, innovation, and people, transforming complex challenges into knowledge and a pathway towards a greener future. Working closely with the Government of Greenland and the European Union, AESA has delivered several strategic outputs:
- A comprehensive report and business model for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), identifying Greenland’s geological potential for long-term CO₂ storage.
- A detailed business case for micro energy grids, supporting the use of renewable energy in remote communities and industrial operations.
- Legal frameworks and RFP guidelines for large-scale hydropower development, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and the preservation of cultural heritage through accompanying archaeological studies.
- A series of national climate workshops to align strategies and raise citizen awareness on Greenland’s role in achieving the Paris Agreement targets.
- Sustainable procurement initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including the integration of business intelligence tools to improve efficiency and transparency in public spending.
These milestones highlight AESA’s commitment to supporting partners in the Arctic region and beyond to achieve climate resilience, good governance, and sustainable growth.
