Job description
Agriconsulting Europe S.A. (AESA), consulting firm for the development of rural, economic, and social activities, is seeking a brilliant and motivated business development manager for its Agriculture and Rural Development Department. Based in Brussels, AESA provides donors funded technical assistance to third countries. The key role of the business development manager is to contribute to the acquisition of new contracts (mainly through the participation to tenders) and to support the department in the project management and all other day-to-day activities.
Business Development activities
Preparation of technical offers and tender documentation
Preparation of Expression of Interest
Identification and selection of experts and companies
Editing and reviewing of curricula vitae
Selection and redrafting of company’s references
Preparation of administrative documents (accounts, mandates, certificates, declarations & letters)
Drafting of tender methodologies and financial offers
Editing, proof reading and quality control of tender documents
Filing of tender documents
Identification of relevant business opportunities and new potential clients
Participation to fact finding missions and drafting of reports
Negotiating with partner companies and potential clients
General professional experience
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience working on Government, research institutes and/or international, bilateral donor funded projects on technical assistance and policy advice projects
A minimum of 6 years of professional experience working in developing countries in the area of human rights including gender
Experience in project management including planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of in the area of human rights including gender issues
Experience on how to apply human rights based approach as methodology that puts human rights at the center of development actions
Experience within the past 4 years of drafting good quality key-documents related to project/programmes cycle management
Management of on-going projects
Technical and administrative backstopping to experts on missions and to on-going projects
Drafting of experts’ contracts
Mobilisation and monitoring of experts
Monitoring of administrative and financial documents (time sheets, mission claims, invoices etc.)
Monitoring of project budgets and accounts
Proof reading and editing of project outputs
Preparation of daily communications with project staff and stakeholders (beneficiaries and clients)
Participation to backstopping missions for on-going projects
Management of contracts with partner companies
Reporting to the administration department
Drafting and updating of project references
Follow up project activities with contracting authorities
Required Qualifications
University Degree in one of the following fields: Agriculture, Rural Development, Veterinary
Knowledge of EU Policy for Agriculture and Rural Development
Familiarity with EU Policy for cooperation and development with third countries would be an asset
Excellent organisational skills
Solid commercial abilities
Personal communication capabilities
Strong computer and technical skills, including very good knowledge of Word, Excel Power Point and Access
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritises with strong self-motivation
Able to meet deadlines and managing stressful situations
Problem solving personal attitude
Excellent writing and communication skills
Good accounting skills
Previous experience of EU funded projects in the relevant area of activity would be desirable
Ability to work in English and French
