The global objective of this assignment is to support the EU Delegation in the formulation of the project. The team should therefore be familiar with the EU project cycle1 and with the Tanzanian environment (institutions, legislation, Non State Actors and other stakeholders) in terms of sustainable and participatory Natural Resources Management (Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries). Knowledge of global environmental issues is also required, in particular related on the linkages between global goods and local actions, and the role that non state actors can play in furthering the global environmental goods agenda at the local level.
The specific objective is to undertake an analysis of the sectors (Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries) and stakeholders involved (national institutions, local authorities and civil society) including the role of Non State Actors in the implementation of the Natural Resources Management legislation (decentralized and community-based interventions). The analysis should also include, inter alia, an assessment of the relevant energy efficiency aspects and opportunities for economic diversification.
The results of this analysis will be integrated in the Action Fiche and related TAPs (Technical and Administrative Provisions), and also in the Guidelines for Applicants (Call for Proposals).
