Description of the project and Services provided:
The overall objective of the programme of which this contract will be a part is as follows: To contribute to sustainable economic development and poverty reduction in ACP countries through closer regional integration and increased participation in the global economy.
The specific objectives of the TradeCom II programme are:

Enhance the capacity of ACP countries to formulate and implement suitable trade policies;

Assist ACP countries to participate effectively in international trade negotiations and to implement international trade agreements to their benefit;

Strengthen ACP Private sector competitiveness by supporting trade facilitation and trade promotion
The results of the project are:
The PMU will efficiently manage the implementation of the TradeCom II programme, thereby contributing to the realization of the following programme results:

Institutional capacities for trade analysis and trade policy formulation strengthened;

Processes: Inclusive trade policy formulation processes are established;

Policies: Suitable trade policy frameworks are developed, operationally implemented and regularly updated;

Strengthened capacity to negotiate effectively and implement successfully bilateral, regional and multilateral trade agreements;

ACP stakeholders are better equipped to design and lead assistance projects in the domain of trade-related assistance;

Reinforced ACP participation in international trade for a;

Improved capacities of ACP institutions managing cross-border trade as well as organizations promoting trade;

International trade procedures are simplified, standardized, harmonized and up to date with standard modern practice;

Internationally compliant customs legislation and customs system are developed and implemented;

Enhanced customs cooperation among ACP countries and increased integration within the international customs system.
