Description of the project and Services provided:
The overall objective of the Programme is to support Kenya eradicate poverty through enhancing the productivity of ecosystem services of Kenya's critical ecosystems and enhance resilience to climate change of her water sources.
The specific purpose of the contract is to support the strengthening of the capacity of the ministry, developing agencies and helping county governments to implement the various components of the programme.
The results of the project are:

Strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to coordinate restoration, conservation and management of water towers by providing the requisite technical, managerial and financial capacities.

Support coordination, harmonisation and implementation of policies and approaches relevant for conservation and management of water towers.

Facilitate the formulation and launching of integrated management plans and the implementation of the climate change mitigation and adaption plan in the programme area by Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Wildlife Service, Kenya Water Tower Agency, Kenya Forestry Research Institute, the National Climate Change Secretariat and the eleven County Governments.

Support the eleven county governments to identify, appraise and implement rehabilitation, reclamation, restoration, initiatives for ecologically and economically sustainable land use systems through participatory approaches.

Support knowledge management and information sharing within the eleven counties, implementing agencies and other related departments and organizations and the communities for the programme area.
