Support for the control and eradication of animal diseases

Description of the project and Services provided:

The project aimed to cover the regional component of assistance to eradicate monitor and control animal diseases in the western Balkans, specifically those diseases that continue to be a threat to EU Member States such as Classical Swine Fever (CSF) and rabies.

The overall objective was to improve regional and cross-border cooperation in the Western Balkans and thereby ensure that the eradication and control of CSF and rabies is harmonised and coordinated at a regional level with Commission support,
AESA was in charge of implementing the following services:
• Project/programme feasibility studies
• Risk management consultancy
• Project management/coordination
• Project/programme implementation/management
• Training
• Institutional capacity building/strengthening
• PCM(Project Cycle Management)
• Target group definition for Public campaign and information materials
• Assessment of Epidemiological situation
• Assessment of Laboratory Capacities
• Supervision of current vaccination campaign of wild animals against Rabies and CSF
• Organization of technical meetings and workshop
• Preparation and distribution of leaflets related to control and eradication of rabies and CSF. 
• Assess and evaluate the diagnostic capacities with regard to Rabies and CSF diagnosis;
