Description of the project and Services provided:
The overall objective of the assignment is to catalyze economic growth in Zimbabwe. It will contribute to addressing the country’s fragility and building its resilience through supporting the growth of the beef and leather sub-sector value chain, with emphasis to value addition, resulting in the creation of employment, income growth, poverty reduction and achieving inclusive growth.
The specific objective of the assignment is to increase the overall competitiveness of the beef and leather value chain in pilot areas primarily through building stakeholders’ production capacities and enabling them access local and export markets.

Inception report to be submitted one month after commencement outlining among others:

Stakeholder platform and networking: Technical papers to support the stakeholder platform; quarterly platform session minutes; activity completion report.

Business environment streamlining and reform: Proposal for policy and regulation reforms in the beef and leather sectors; Advocacy training reports for sub-sector specific associations; activity completion report.

Stakeholder capacity building: Training modules developed/adopted; Training reports for Training of Trainers; Training reports for downstream stakeholders; Training reports for upstream stakeholders; activity completion report.
