On the basis of international trade agreements and the SPS Institutional Reform Plan (SPS IRP), the harmonization of the Ukrainian legislation and institutions on SPS measures, food and feed safety, animal health and welfare rules, with the EU acquis, is one of the priorities for the elimination of trade barriers between EU and Ukraine.
The project aims to contribute enhancing the food safety sector in Ukraine by improving the alignment of the national legislation, institutional infrastructure and State’s controls system, with the EU legislation for the facilitation of trade agreements.
To do so the consultant provides assistance to the Ukrainian competent authorities for the implementation of the “from farm to fork” approach based on EU legislation and standards including principles of HACCP, traceability, responsibilities of business operators, an effective system of sate supervision and control.
