Description of the project and Services provided:

The overall objective is to deepen and broaden the EU-Australia partnership using the EU-AUS FA as a reference point and to ensure that other opportunities for engagement are further expanded, including the broadening of the political, research and innovation, economic and trade investment relationship, also with a view to the prospective EU-AUS FTA.

The specific purposes of this contract are:

  • To raise the profile and the importance of the EU-AUS relationship across all sectors of Government, Parliament, business, civil society, academia and the media.
  • To effectively influence the agenda-setting of the official EU-Australia relationship, as well as of selected Senior Official Dialogues, through ideas and informed input generated by the Senior Leaders Forum/Emerging Leaders Forum, and by the Sectoral Policy Workshops.

The results of the project are:

  • Through the provision of a highly prestigious platform (Senior Leaders Fora/Emerging Leaders Fora), ensuring greater awareness, interest and ownership of EU-AUS relationship amongst key decision makers and emerging leaders from the EU and Australia coming from Government, Parliament, business, civil society, academia and the media.
  • Greater interest and knowledge generated amongst key decision makers and emerging leaders regarding the concept, benefits and consequences of a possible EU-AUS FTA.
  • Concrete ideas generated for the concrete implementation of the FA and FPA and Horizon 2020 and other areas of cooperation, including new ones. 
  • Informed input for Senior Officials Dialogue generated by Expert Policy Workshops.
  • Press releases  on the benefits and opportunities of the EU-AUS relationship, as well as of the place and role of the EU in the region and in the world, published.
  • Established network of senior and emerging leaders across all sectors (politics, civil society, private sector, academia and the media) and of policy experts actively engaged in promoting the EU-AUS relations.
  • Baseline study providing an up to date information base on EU-AUS relations, mapping the perceptions of Australian and European media and establishing baseline information and indicators to monitor the progress of EUALF and of the EU-AUS relationship.
  • One publication on EU-AUS relations and one publication on the results of the EUALF project.
