New JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR AN INTERNAL POSITION: BID MANAGER AND PROJECT MANAGER FOR THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

AESA Economic Development Department is looking for an enthusiastic team player to join the team in Brussels as Bid Manager and Project Manager. The Department assists worldwide, donors, national and local institutions and other stakeholders on thematic concerning international trade, trade negotiations, SMEs, export promotions, capacity building and private sector development.

The candidate should share the passion for economic subjects as well as a proactive attitude to work in team.

AESA Economic Department will discuss and agree on the range of tasks and a career path for the candidate’s future development in the company, based on his/her experience and skills, offering space for professional growth.

As Bid Manager and Project Manager s/he will be responsible for managing the preparation of the FrameWork Contract offers as well as of Technical Assistances, from identifying experts to submission of offers and subsequent management of projects.

• Location: Brussels
• Language: Full proficiency in written and spoken English; good working knowledge of French, Spanish or Portuguese will be an asset.
• Work experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar International consulting company.

Job description:

• Elaboration and coordination of technical and financial proposals;
• Establishing and maintaining regular professional contacts and networking with clients, partners and sector experts;
• Management and quality control of ongoing projects;
• Reviewing performance and implementing lesson learned;
• Writing of reports, concepts and presentations as well as contributing to knowledge and quality management;
• Representation of AESA in conferences and seminars;

The position could involve short missions and business trips in and outside EU.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:

• At least 2 years of proved success in Bid management or Project management with a consultancy company working on EU funded projects preferably on subjects related to Private Sector Development, Trade and Capacity building;
• Ability to withstand pressure when working toward tight deadlines;
• Plan, organize a team, monitor progress and review contributions;
• Proved experience in managing projects funded by international donors such as European Union, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNDP, etc.;
• Understanding of the strategies and programmes of relevant donors (EU, AFD, ADB,
• WB…);
• Willingness to travel in developing countries, sometimes at short notice.

Education & Experience: Master degree in a relevant area, e.g. Economics, Political Science, Development Studies, or similar.
